Vision for Wellington launched
The Wellington MCTi Plan was officially launched at a special event on Thursday 18th September.
The event was the culmination of 7 community-based consultations the WMCTi group have undertaken since November ’07 to ascertain a ‘Vision for Wellington’ - what the people of Wellington would like the town to be like in 20 years’ time. The group wanted the people of Wellington to tell them what future they wanted for their town, their children and themselves.
After a welcome from Andrew Govier, District Councillor and a member of WMCTi, the Co-Chair of WMCTi, Dave Mitton, gave a presentation of the process and then workshops took place to discuss initial project ideas - ie the best ways to address the actions identified in the plan.
